Woman shopping in Madrid

Places to visit in Spain and go shopping

none

Beyond the very well-known Madrid, Valencia or Barcelona, there are many Spanish destinations where you can take home some of their style in your suitcase. Art, fashion, up-and-coming design, gourmet products or local handicrafts. Unique items which will be more than a simple souvenir of your holiday destination.

These are some interesting places to visit and go shopping in Spain: - The Siete Calles or “seven streets” in the old town of Bilbao. A maze of shops, bars and restaurants where you can buy traditional products or the latest trends in fashion and design. A good time to visit? Saturday morning, so that you can finish up by sipping on a coffee to the sound of jazz at the Ribera Market, on the banks of the Nervión estuary. - Calle Larios, in Malaga’s old quarter. A pleasant pedestrian route which allows you to go shopping at the same time as visiting tourist spots like Malaga Cathedral, also known as “la Manquita”, or the one-armed, because it’s missing a tower. You can finish your walk with a drink and a great view of Malaga harbour, a commercial area with a selection of culture and cuisine which is well worth visiting.

- Plaza Lugo and its surroundings in A Coruña. The “golden mile” of the "city of glass", so called for the balconies of La Marina district, is strewn with Galician, national and international brands, concept stores and handicraft workshops. A luxury shopping itinerary dedicated to design, fashion and of course, the best cuisine. - The Vegueta and Triana neighbourhoods in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. A route that combines international brands with traditional crafts, dotted with lively terraces and Art Nouveau façades. The Canary Islands are also highly recommended when looking for the best value for money, as they enjoy the lowest taxes in Europe.

From international and luxury fashion to iconic local shops, not forgetting the wealth of municipal or street markets where you can find just about everything. Shopping in Spain is a way of contributing to local development, understanding the culture and connecting with people.Shall we go shopping
