Capture the beauty of the Picos de Europa

Want to take a great photo? The trick is to organise your route starting out from the Potes area – in the Liébana district – and taking in part of the Cantabrian Mountains. Other places that offer stunning views of the Picos are San Vicente de la Barquera and Comillas. These coastal towns are also great places for relaxing and enjoying the local cuisine. Psst! A secret: in winter you can take a magical shot of the mountains capped with snow.

From the heart of the mountains

Before going up to the top of the highest peaks, you could visit the Cosgaya forest in Liébana. The explosion of colour in the autumn will give you some incredible shots. Very near by, you can take the cable car from Fuente Dé; in just 4 minutes you can zoom to an altitude of 1,823. From there, you can start a route into the heart of the landscape. The views are magnificent. Another place for excellent photos and a lasting memory of your family holiday is Coriscao (Camaleño). Go to the viewing point at Llesba and... well, you'll see for yourself! If you're looking for a bit of peace and quiet, check out Santo Toribio monastery or the Santa María de Lebeña church. When you visit you will understand why these two houses of worship were built in the mountains centuries ago. A good photo is a good adventure. And Spain has so many adventures to offer. How about starting off in Cantabria?
