Motorhome route through Europe: discovering the Spanish coasts

If you've been thinking of leaving your worries and routines behind for a good while, keep reading and discover a tour route that'll raise your pulse rate, whisk you off to some of the most magical spots on the Spanish coast, and make you feel as free as a bird. From the Costa Verde to the Costa de la Luz, from the north to the south of Spain. Choose where to start off from, and don't worry about where you’re going to finish up.

Begin your trip on the Costa Verde

Driving along a coastline sculpted by the Cantabrian Sea you'll find deep pine forests, sandy coves and imposing cliffs. Your tour will start on the coast of Asturias by the crystalline waters of La Griega beach, in the western part of the Principality of Asturias. Continue on your way by La Espasa beach, a vast stretch of sand between Caravia and Colunga. You can see Gulpiyuri, to the north of the village of Naves, the only place with an inland beach. And you’ll love the perfect crescent of Torimbia beach in Niembro, idyllic and unspoiled,Here you can stop and rest in picturesque fishing villages, such as Cudillero, with its brightly coloured little houses, wide windows, and an interesting local cuisine based on “curadillo”, sundried, salt-cured fish.

The route continues along the Costa Brava

Following the Costa Brava means exploring Catalonia. You'll discover coves, shingle and sandy beaches, and the mild Mediterranean climate you’ve been dreaming of. Dozens of pretty coastal villages await, with the sea at your feet, and the mountains rising into the sky above.You will see the sunset in the Cap de Creus Natural Park, discover the authentic ruins of Ampurias, walk along the seashore in Cadaqués and be inspired like Dalí.You'll visit the town of Begur, where you will walk medieval streets, discovering Caribbean traditions in the Fira D'Indians dancing to the sound of Cuban music. You will recall stories of pirates and finally sink your feet into the sand on the beach of Illa Roja, located in the north of the municipality.Continue on through Calella de Palafrugell, stroll down the cobbled streets lined by whitewashed houses with balconies, refresh yourself on beaches such as Port-Bo or El Golfet, and admire some incredible viewing points, like the leafy Cap Roig Botanical Garden.

You’ll feel revitalised on the Costa de la Luz

Located in Andalusia, between the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz, the Costa de la Luz is considered a real garden of Eden.
