Town located in the north of Almería surrounded by mountains. Its Mediterranean climate entices you to stroll around or to simply relax.
You can start your visit off at the 16th-century Vélez Blanco castle to admire its exterior - the only part of it still conserved to this day. The view from the Sierra de María Nature Reserve will not leave you indifferent. You will also be able to go to the Los Letreros cave, where you will see the painting that has turned into the symbol of Almería: the Indalo. Take a stroll around its old town, with its narrow, winding streets, where you will find monuments such as the San Luís Obispo convent and the Inmaculada Concepción hermitage. And don't forget to try the traditional sweets such as the ‘alfajores' (sweet pastries) and the ‘roscos de vino y anís’ (wine- and aniseed-flavoured doughnuts).
