Sangüesa is in the middle area of the Region of Aragon, on the banks of the Aragon River. This historic town is 44 kilometres from Pamplona, the regional capital, and is outstanding for its medieval historic-artistic heritage. In the Middle Ages, Sangüesa lived a period of splendour, partly because it was an important stopping place for pilgrims on the Way of St. James.
