Trengandin Beach in Noja (Cantabria)

Noja

Cantabria

A tourist destination on the Cantabrian Coast that stands out for its beaches and natural marshlands known for their bird-watching.

Long beaches like Trengandín and Ris, with kilometres of uninterrupted golden sand stretches, are Noja's main attraction. Two tips: enjoy the spectacular sunsets by watching them at low tide and walking along the moon-like landscape that it forms. If you like diving, we recommend Trengandín beach. Ris beach, however, is great for surfing and canoeing.

The natural surroundings are an important nature reserve whose marshland attracts thousands of birds every year. For its part, the village is home to many traditional stone mansions and houses, a medieval bridge, chapels, fountains, sand mills, and more. Make the most of your visit and taste the most popular local product, the ‘nécora’ (a small crab), and grilled anchovies or sardines. Keep in mind that many local festivals are celebrated during the summer (San Juan, 24 June; San Pedro, 29 June; Nuestra Señora del Carmen, 16 July; and Santos Mártires, the last week of August).
