The fishing village of Luanco is less than 40 kilometres from Oviedo. It has an interesting historic centre as well as beautiful beaches washed by the Bay of Biscay.
It is well worth having a stroll around this village, whose origins go back to medieval times. It has many palace buildings, mostly from the 18th century, as well as some Modernist constructions. You should also visit the fishing harbour and the promenade, an ideal spot for a drink at one of the local bars. Luanco is the tuna capital of Asturias. Gastronomic events focusing on this fish have been held here since 1984.
