El Barco de Ávila
It is a gorgeous town in Avila, whose greatest lure is the magnificent scenery that surrounds it, and panoramic views of Sierra de Gredos.
It has a rich heritage, whose greatest example is the church of Nuestra Señora de Asunción, a Gothic building from the 14th century, a bit more austere than usual. It still has a medieval bridge that crosses the Tormes river, the remains of a wall, and a gate. It is also a good idea to visit the Castle of Valdecorneja, a fortress from the 15th century that belonged to the Duke of Alba, and which nowadays holds a number of cultural activities.
