Cuenca
The municipality of Beteta is located in the mountainous area of Cuenca, at the foot of the Arab castle of Rocafría, from which we can have splendid panoramic views of the surroundings.
Beteta was the ancient Vetera, a town whose origins go back to Roman times. Its historic quarter still preserves remains of fronts and posterns from the ancient walls. Some of its constructions alone are reason enough to visit this town, like the walls, the parish church with its Plateresque-Gothic main front and breathtaking reredos, and the main square, or Plaza Mayor.
