Fuerteventura
Antigua is one of the most important towns on Fuerteventura.
The municipality of Antigua is in the centre of the island. Its exceptional location, it is a staging post between the town of Betancuria and the jetties of Caleta de Fuste and Pozo Negro, as well as the excellent arable land it possesses, have determined the town's importance. The area contains major archaeological sites: Corraletes (Muley ravine), Atalayita (Pozo Negro ravine) and Rosita del Vicario (Torre ravine). Antigua has interesting examples of popular architecture, such as the corn mills standing on the plain and the church of Nuestra Señora de Antigua.
