Exhibition: Simone Fattal. Suspension of disbelief

Exhibition
Valencia-València

The French-Lebanese multidisciplinary artist Simone Fattal (Damascus, 1942) was awarded the Generalitat Valenciana's 2024 Julio González Prize, in recognition of her contribution to the development of modern art and her international reputation. This is captured in this IVAM exhibition, which examines the main themes in the artist's work.

Fattal uses mediums such as sculpture, photography and painting to capture archetypal figures that bring historical narratives into the present, from Sumerian tales to Arabic epics, as time is an elastic entity for her where past, future and present intermingle. This exhibition provides an opportunity to experience Fattal's vision of humanity and the place of the individual in history.
