Thyssen Museum, Madrid

Exhibition: Peter Halley in Spain

Madrid

This is the first retrospective exhibition of the New York painter and contemporary classic Peter Halley since the one organised by the Museo Reina Sofía in 1992. It covers the artist's entire career from 1985 to this year 2024. Halley himself has made the selection of the 20 paintings, all belonging to Spanish collections and has been in charge of designing the installation plan at the Thyssen Museum.

This exhibition is an opportunity to closely appreciate the work of an artist who has reinterpreted geometry in abstract art and has established himself as one of the most intrepid and experimental colorists of recent decades. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in Halley's palette of dayglo colours evoking the inherent energy of electronic screens.
