The International Ornithological Tourism Fair–Extremadura Birdwatching Fair (FIO), considered the most important of its kind in southern Europe, takes place in the Monfragüe National Park (Cáceres).

This nature area is a exceptional setting for bird-watching, and a refuge for such emblematic species as the Iberian imperial eagle and the black vulture. The fair also has an exhibition area for companies and institutional associations, as well as a section for manufacturers and distributors of optical goods. The programme includes conferences on nature photography (FOTOFIO), a photography competition that has become a landmark in Spain, guided hiking routes, bird-ringing workshops, activities for children, and bird-watching from various viewing points throughout the Monfragüe National Park.
