"Folk del Mundo" (World Folk) International Festival of Music, Dance and Traditional Songs.

Jaén's "Folk del Mundo" (World Folk) International Festival of Music, Dance and Traditional Songs came into being in 1978 and started to work with international groups in 1986. The event is organised by the Jaén Provincial Government, in collaboration with the City Council and the "Lola Torres" Provincial Chorus and Dance Association.

It takes place every year and the programme includes national and international groups that dance and perform folk music. The aim of the festival is to show cultural diversity and promote the participation of international groups. All the groups stage a performance in the city of Jaén, the event's centre, and shows in the other participating towns and villages. During the shows you can usually buy typical crafts from the participating countries.
