World Press Photo is the name of the world famous photojournalism awards, and also the name of the travelling exhibition that exhibits the best images of the year, which are enjoyed by millions of people. The winning photographs of 2024 travel to many countries and will be exhibited at Barcelona between the months of November and December.
There are four main categories in the awards: individual (single image taken in 2023), photo essay (4-10 photos that tell a story, taken in the previous two years), long-term project (24-30 snapshots from three different years, but at least six from 2023) and open format (photos taken with innovative, non-traditional methods). The photos will be chosen by the jury for their visual quality and strength, and must have not been previously published in Spain, offering different points of view on current affairs. Whoever contemplates them is, at the very least, invited to reflect.
