The Tàpies Foundation invites African artist Serge Attukwei Clottey (Ghana, 1985) to adorn the modernist façade of the building, designed by the famous architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Waste materials are the main protagonists of Clottey's work, whose objective is to recreate a “second skin” and promote reflection.
The piece is composed of mosaic tiles whose raw materials include objects such as yellow containers, car tyres and cork. This is how the Ghanaian artist expresses his care for and commitment to the culture and identity of his hometown, Accra. This artistic creation involves a parallel dialogue that aims to focus on environmentalism and the current global economic system, calling on migrant communities living in the city of Barcelona to participate.
