El Cid Week

The city of Burgos (Castilla y León) becomes a huge medieval stage decorated with flags and banners to pay homage to the figure of one of the most legendary Spanish historical heroes: El Cid Campeador.

The old town seems to go back to the 11th century and its streets are filled with animation, parades and battles organised by different associations and related to the Cid Campeador and the Middle Ages.With this cultural, tourist and gastronomic proposal, you can enjoy activities such as the Semana Cidiana congress, musical and audiovisual shows, camps, souks and markets, historical re-enactments, historical sports battles, tournaments, parades, conferences and much more.Visitors can attend participatory workshops about, for example, textiles in the Middle Ages or exhibitions on inventions or medicine in the Middle Ages.The goal is for the whole family to enjoy this event.
