How to get to the airport


Cab

The fixed fare of the trip is €33 for routes from and to the airport and the inner part of the Madrid Calle 30 ring road (M-30), and includes free transportation of luggage. There is no surcharge on this fixed rate and the maximum amount for the services hired remotely will not apply if the passenger is at the pick-up point at the agreed time.

If the journey is less than 9,5 km and has not been hired remotely, the minimum cost is €20.

 

Train

Lines C-1 and C-10 of Renfe Cercanías (Commuter) connect terminal T4 (the only train stop at the airport) with several stations in Madrid, including Chamartín and Atocha, which have connections with long-distance and AVE high-speed trains. The ticket price is €2.60. It's free for passengers who have AVE tickets and who are travelling for a flight.

Meter

Direct connection to all terminals through metro line 8. The price of a single ticket to the centre of Madrid varies from €1.5 to €2, according to the number of stops, with a supplement of €3* for travelling to the airport.

*Transport pass and tourist pass users do not need to pay this surcharge.

Highway

The airport is only 12 km away from Madrid. Access to Terminal 4 is via the southbound M-40 ring road, M-11, A-2 (towards Madrid and Zaragoza), A-1 (towards Madrid and Burgos) and the R-2 (M-50). Access to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 is via the M-40, M-11, A-2 (towards Madrid and Zaragoza), and the A-1 (towards Madrid and Burgos).

 

Bus

There is a 24-hour service between terminals T1, T2 and T4 and Puerta de Atocha station (express line 203). The cost of the ticket is €5. The N27 Exprés is the service running during the night, which departs from Plaza de Cibeles (not from Puerta de Atocha). In addition, several urban and interurban bus lines connect the airport with the Avenida de América transport interchange and other various points in Madrid, with buses running 6:30 to 23:30 (please check the schedules before travelling). City bus lines 101 and 200 (the ticket costs €1.5). Interurban bus lines 822, 824, 827 and 828 connect other towns in the Region of Madrid with the airport, such as Alcalá de Henares and Alcobendas. Several long-distance bus companies also stop directly at the airport.

Free bus service between terminals. Journey time, in both directions, approximately 10 minutes.
